iOS 18 brings new features for Indian users, including Hindi support

Apple is set to create a buzz among Indian users with its upcoming iOS 18 update.

One of the highlights is the addition of Hindi language support to the translation app and other system features. Siri also receives a large update (along with Siri 2.0) and can understand and respond to Hindi.

In addition, Siri learns nine more Indian language!

Indian iPhone users can now set up a lock screen to display time and contact information in Indian Indian and numbers.

According to this tweet, managing voicemails becomes a breeze with Live Voicemail Transcription in Indian English.

However, funnily enough, voicemails don’t work in India. However, Live Voicemail Transcription transcribes voice messages.

And one more thing: the keyboard will allow transliteration between English and two other Indian languages. It now supports 11 Indian languages, with improved language search and writing suggestions.

Additionally, there are rumors from insider leaks that Apple will bring Apple Pay to India with iOS 18. It will be interesting to see use cases for this in markets already dominated by the Indian payment system UPI.

We expect Apple Pay to integrate UPI in the same way that Google Pay does, but we expect some surprises from Apple, such as its plans to drop the A17 chipset even in the base iPhone 16 model. Historically, they used the pro-Variant chipset in previous years to the latest basic options.
